What Causes Acne?
Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become blocked with oil and dead skin cells which are a breeding ground for P. acnes bacteria. This often causes whiteheads, blackheads or pimples, and usually appears on the face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders. Acne is most common among teenagers due to the increase in hormones, though it affects people of all ages with adults experiencing acne which can be stress and hormone-related.
