Skin Concerns · Dryness & Dehydration

Comfortable skin starts with a stronger barrier.

Tight, flaky or dull skin is low on oil and water. The barrier that holds moisture in has weakened. We rebuild it, so skin stays comfortable.

Understanding dry, dehydrated skin

Why skin gets dry and dehydrated

Your skin barrier is a thin layer of oil and cells on the surface. It keeps water in and irritants out.

When the barrier weakens, skin loses oil and water together. It feels tight, looks dull and can flake. Fine lines show more.

Weather, harsh products and age all wear the barrier down. Any skin type can be affected, even oily skin.

Repairing the barrier takes about 4 to 6 weeks of the right care.

What makes it worse

The common causes

Weather

Cold, wind, heating and air-conditioning pull water from the skin.

Harsh products

Foaming cleansers and strong actives can strip oil and weaken the barrier.

Hot water

Long, hot showers wash away the oils that keep skin soft.

Age

Skin makes less oil as we age. It holds less water too.

Results & what to expect

Your plan, stage by stage

Consult

We assess your barrier, oil and hydration. Then we map your plan.

Soothe

Week 1. A gentler routine stops further stripping. Skin feels more comfortable.

Repair

Weeks 2–6. Facials and barrier care rebuild moisture. Flaking settles.

Maintain

Regular facials, daily SPF and the right moisturiser keep skin hydrated.

What to expect: skin often feels softer after one facial. Repairing the barrier takes around 4 to 6 weeks. Results vary by skin.

Homecare

What you do at home matters

Skin low on oil and water needs gentle cleansing and a moisturiser that replaces both. Your therapist prescribes a routine for your skin. SPF every day protects the barrier.

FAQs

Your dry, dehydrated skin questions, answered

Why does my skin feel tight and flaky?

Your skin barrier has weakened, so skin is losing oil and water. Gentle care and the right treatments rebuild it.

Will drinking more water fix it?

It helps your body, but it won't fix your skin on its own. The barrier needs to be repaired so skin can hold its water.

How long until my skin feels better?

Most clients feel a difference after one facial. Repairing the barrier takes around 4 to 6 weeks of the right homecare.

Is there downtime?

The HydraFacial and our facials have no downtime. After a peel, skin may flake lightly for a few days.

Do I need SPF if my skin feels dry?

Yes, every day. Sun weakens the barrier. A hydrating SPF protects and moisturises at once.
