Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers

Derived from complex sugar molecules (also known as hyaluronic acid, or HA), these 'fillers' are injected dermally to add volume, correct facial symmetry or enhance features such as the chin, cheeks or lips.

Hyaluronic acid additionally attracts moisture and can restore the skins hydration leading to skin that is visibly younger and more radiant.

Dermal Fillers are available in different densities to enhance different parts of the face. Areas such as the lips require a softer product to ensure the results are subtle but also feel natural. However, areas that need more support like the cheeks, a thicker product is generally recommended.

Cheeks- Over time, the ‘fat-pads’ in our cheeks lose volume which causes this area to sag and effect other areas of the face. Dermal Fillers in the cheeks are one of the most important areas to consider when addressing facial symmetry as adding volume to this area helps to define cheekbones and restore volume to the face for a more youthful appearance.

Lips- By far the most common area we treat today as Dermal Fillers can both enhance and restore lip features.

Tear Troughs- Loss of volume in this area can lead to dark circles, make you older and tired.

Nasal-Labial Folds- These folds start at the sides of the nose and run down to the corners of the mouth. As your cheek lose their volume, these folds become deeper. Addressing the cheeks may sometimes soften these lines, other times, both areas may need ‘filling’.

Temples- Can fill the hollowing of temples due to ageing.

Chin- Adding Dermal Fillers to a ‘soft’ chin can restore facial symmetry by elongating or even squaring the face.

Jaw-Line- Dermal Fillers can be used to enhance the facial symmetry of males for a more squared jaw-line.
