      What Are Skin Blemishes?

In the broad sense, a skin ‘blemish’ just means any mark that appears on the skin's surface. There are so many different types of blemishes, but the following are just some of the most common that we perform blemish and scar treatments on:
      • Acne scarring
      • General scarring
      • Blackheads
      • Pimple
      • Hyperpigmentation
      • Localised infections
      • Redness or inflammation
      • Skin cancers
      • Dermatitis
      • Eczema

      Causes of Blemishes

There are so many different causes for blemished skin. The appearance of blemishes can range from minimal and momentary to very severe and life long.

      Congested pores

Acne is caused by excess oil and dead skin cells combine and the natural process of shedding the skin doesn’t happen efficiently. This blocks the pores making them irritated, even leaving deep scarring once the wound has healed.

General and isolated scarring marks can be caused by anything such as chicken pox, bites, ingrown hairs and other skin infections. This complaint typically manifests in sore and red skin that is uncomfortable to touch.

      Sun Damage

If your skin is unprotected against harmful UV rays, you run the risk of skin cancers forming and hyperpigmentation occurring.

      Other Dermatological Conditions

Eczema and different types of dermatitis are skin conditions that are also associated with inflamed skin that causes blemishes.
